Course Description
Course Description
The St. Louis City Emergency Management Agency, Saint Louis University School of Nursing, and the Heartland Center for Public Health Preparedness have partnered to bring you a 1-day workshop on Children in Disasters. The objectives of this workshop are to focus on the physical and mental injuries children may suffer in a nautural, man-made or other high consequence event and how First Responders can respond, manage, and mitigate potential trauma, both physical and psychological, to children. In addition, we have invited the St. Louis Critical Incident Stress Management Team to provide information on how First Responders can better cope with stress during and after a disaster. This workshop is geared toward Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement and Public Health.
This course is free of charge and lunch is provided.
